MAC 40th Anniversary Seminar
June 24–25, 2023 — St. Camillus Center, Quezon City, led by Fujimaki Hiroshi Shihan
After a three-year interruption occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine aikido community resumed taking instruction from a Japan Aikikai master. Featured again to teach was Fujimaki Hiroshi Shihan, 7th dan.
The two-day seminar was held at the covered court of the St. Camillus Center for Humanization in Health, in Varsity Hills Village, Loyola Heights, Quezon City — the first time an aikido seminar was held at that venue.
2023 also marked the 40th anniversary of the Makati Aikido Club. The MAC operated nonstop since 1983, including through the COVID lockdowns, during which it conducted 269 Zoom classes under Troy Nones Shidoin.
Overnight lodging was available at the seminar premises: St. Camillus Center offered 13 three-person rooms and 11 single/double rooms, first come first served, arranged directly through the center's staff. Out-of-town and overseas participants unable to secure a room could find AirBnBs and hotels in the general vicinity.
Not sure yet?
Come and watch a class.
Simply show up 15 minutes before any scheduled class and introduce yourself to the instructor or to anyone who appears to know his way around. They will take care of you from that point. That is all.
