Everything you need to plan a visit — where we train, what a first class feels like, and how to reach us with a question.
Makati Aikido Club is temporarily closed for renovation.
Our usual training venue at the Makati Sports Club is under construction from July 2026, for a projected four to six months. We are not holding classes at our customary space during this period.
In the meantime, MAC members are training at other dojos around the city, and looking forward to reopening the Makati Sports Club facilities.
If you're a prospective student, please don't let this stop you from reaching out — send us a message on Facebook or by email, and we'll help you find your way to a class in the meantime.
Location
Makati Sports Club
L.P. Leviste corner Gallardo Street
Salcedo Village, Makati City
The dojo sits well away from the street, inside a secure space watched over by security staff around the clock. Salcedo Village is within the Central Business District. It is easy to reach from most points in Makati. Please refer to the map on this page. Enter through the Makati Sports Club gate on Gallardo Street and let the guard know you're here for Aikido.
Street parking. After 1700 hrs, street parking is free in Salcedo Village. Sorry, only proprietary shareholders of Makati Sports Club, however, may park inside the MSCI campus.

Start Your First Class
You don't need an
appointment. Just show up.
There's no application, no interview, and nothing to prepare in advance. Choose a class from the schedule and this is genuinely all there is to it:
Simply show up 15 minutes before any scheduled class and introduce yourself to the instructor or to anyone who appears to know his way around. They will take care of you from that point. That is all.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing you can move in — a t-shirt and sweatpants or jogging trousers is fine. Aikido is trained barefoot on the mat, so leave your shoes at the edge with everyone else's. No prior experience, particular fitness level, or equipment is expected of you. Practice here is cooperative, not competitive — you'll very often find yourself training beside someone with decades more experience, and that is exactly how it should feel.
Questions about cost, age, or anything else before you come? That's what the contact form below — or the 💬 Ask Sensei button in the corner — is for.
