Etsuji Horii Seminar

June 3–4, 2011

Aikido Philippines (AP), the Pilipinas Aikido Propagation Association (PAPA), and the Filipino Federation of Aikido (FFA) invited all aikidoka to a mid-year seminar taught by Etsuji Horii, 7th dan, June 3–4, 2011. Horii entered Hombu Dojo in Tokyo in 1985, initially as an uchi-deshi, and eventually became an instructor there. He moved back to his native Kobe in 1996 to establish his own Sanda Dojo, remaining close to Doshu and Hombu and teaching many international seminars.

Horii is known for his powerful technique. He has said: "I have trained at Aikido World Headquarters of Aikikai Foundation for 10 years. I will devote all my strength for research and development of Aikido as long as I live. I will look back at myself through the lessons, and find out the meaning of the words by the Founder Morihei Ueshiba, 'Bu is Love.'"

The seminar was held at the International School Manila, University Parkway, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, over six sessions on June 3–4. It was priced at P1,200 for all six sessions, plus a P200 mat fee per session, with an P800 early-bird rate for those who paid before May 15, 2011.
