Shoji Seki Shihan Seminar, February 2014

February 8–9, 2014, PJF dojo, Malate, Manila — a joint project of PAPA, FFA, and Aikido Philippines

Seki Shihan, a senior instructor at Japan Aikikai Hombu Dojo, conducted a seminar in Manila on February 8 and 9, 2014, at the PJF dojo, 3rd floor, Sports Medicine Building, Rizal Memorial Coliseum complex, Malate, Manila.

Seki Shihan was a newly minted 8th dan, having been promoted at the Kagami Biraki ceremony on January 12, 2014. This first major seminar of 2014 was a joint project of PAPA, FFA, and Aikido Philippines.

The two-day schedule ran three sessions per day with a lunch break, and Sunday's final session doubled as a promotion exam.

Early-bird registration was PhP1,300 (later extended to PhP1,400 through February 3rd due to popular demand), with a daily rate of PhP900. Participants attending a minimum of three sessions were eligible for a door-prize raffle for a dogi and a new tanto — the same raffle whose winner was announced in a companion article on this site.

Come and watch a class.

Simply show up 15 minutes before any scheduled class and introduce yourself to the instructor or to anyone who appears to know his way around. They will take care of you from that point. That is all.
